Account Info

1. How to Edit User Profile:

Navigate to the Side Navigation Menu

  • Click on “Admin Settings
    • Click on “Account Info
      • Click on “Edit Profile” under your Profile Picture
        • Make any changes to your account information, then click “Save

2. How to Change Password

Navigate to the Side Navigation Menu

  • Click on “Admin Settings
    • Click on “Account Info
      • Click on “Change Password” under your Profile Picture
        • Type your current password and your new password, then click “Save

User Management

1. Purchase Additional Users in User Management

Navigate to the Side Navigation Menu

  • Click on “Admin Settings
    • Click on “User Management
      • Click on “+Purchase License(s)”, in the upper-right corner.
        • In the popup box, you can purchase additional users by selecting the number of user licenses you want to add to your current subscription, and whether you want to pay monthly or annually.

2. Setup New Users in User Management

 Navigate to the Side Navigation Menu

  • Click on “Admin Settings
    • Click on “User Management
      • Click on “Setup New User”, in the upper-right corner.

Billing

  1. Update Billing Information:

Navigate to the Side Navigation Menu

  • Click on “Admin Settings
    • Click on “Billing
      • In the Current Billing Information box (upper-left corner), click on “Update Billing Info
        • Make your change to your billing information, then click “Save Billing Info

2. View Current Subscription Info

Navigate to the Side Navigation Menu

  • Click on “Admin Settings
    • Click on “Billing
      • In the “Current Billing Information”, you can review information about your JurisCase subscription (i.e. number of users, next payment dates and payment amounts…)

 3. Purchase Additional Users

      • Purchase Additional Users in Billing:

 Navigate to the Side Navigation Menu

  • Click on “Admin Settings
    • Click on “Billing
      • In the upper-right corner, you can purchase additional users by selecting the number of user licenses you want to add to your current subscription, and whether you want to pay monthly or annually.

Search Cases

1. How to make a search to find court cases:

Navigate to the Side Navigation Menu and click on Search Cases (magnifying glass icon)

  • Select the Jurisdictions you want to search in
    • Choose the Date Range you want to search in
      • Type your keywords in the Advanced Searches” section, and click Search

 2. How to filter selected Jurisdictions in search results:

Make a search to pull up search results

  • Click on the “Jurisdiction” button on top of the search results
    • Click on any jurisdiction(s) to filter your results

3. How to sort by Date in search results:

Make a search to pull up search results

  • Click on the “Date Sorting” button on top of the search results
    • Choose to sort your results by date (i.e. “Newest to Oldest” or “Oldest to Newest”)

4. How to Save a Search Result:

Make a search to pull up search results

  • Choose a name for your search result and type it in the bar where it says “Save these results
    • Click on Save (floppy disk icon) to save the search result.

Bookmarks

1. Access Bookmark Management:

Navigate to the Side Navigation Menu.

  • Click on “Bookmarks
    • Click on View to open any bookmarked court case, regulation, or statute.

2. How to bookmark a case:

Open the court case, regulation, or statute.

  • Click on “Bookmark” (the blue ribbon) above the title.

When the blue ribbon turns red, this means that the case has been bookmarked.

To remove a bookmark, simply click on the red ribbon to turn it blue.

Saved Searches

1. How to Save a Search Result:

Make a search to pull up search results

  • Choose a name for your search result and type it in the bar where it says “Save these results
    • Click on Save (floppy disk icon) to save the search result.

2. How to Edit a Saved Search:

Navigate to the Side Navigation Menu.

  • Click on “Saved Searches
    • Click on Edit (pen icon) in the row of the saved search you want to edit
    • Click on “Edit Saved Search” in the upper-left corner
    • Make any change you’d like (i.e. saved search’s name, jurisdiction selection, date range, or keywords…)
    • Click on “Save and Back to Manage” to save your changes

Case View

1.  How to bookmark a case:

Open the court case, regulation, or statute.

  • Click on “Bookmark” (the blue ribbon) above the title.

When the blue ribbon turns red, this means that the case has been bookmarked.

To remove a bookmark, simply click on the red ribbon to turn it blue.

2. How to print a case:

Open the court case, regulation, or statute.

  • Click on “Print” (the printer icon) above the title.

3. How to Use the 3 Citation Tabs:

a)  Click on “Cited By” to see where else the case has been cited.

b) Click on “Cites” to see the citations mentioned within the case.

c) Click on “Negative Treatment” to see if the case has been considered “bad law” in other cases.

Documents

Manage Documents:

1.  How to Access Documents

Navigate to the Side Navigation Menu:

  • Click on “Manage Documents” to expand the list
    • Click on “Documents

2. How to Edit a Document:

Navigate to the row of the document you want to edit:

  • Click on the Edit button with the “pen” icon

Navigate to the row of the document you want to view:

  • Click on the View button with the “eye” icon

Create a Document:

1. Create a document from Document Management Page:

Navigate to the Side Navigation Menu:

  • Click on “Manage Documents” to expand the list
    • Click on “Documents
      • Click on “+Document” in the upper-right corner

2. Create a document in the Notepad:

Navigate to the Side Navigation Menu:

  • Click on “Notepad” to open the Document Editor

3. Create a document from within the Case View Page:

Open the court case, regulation, or statute you want to take notes on:

  • Hover and click on Editor to take notes

4. Document Editor – Clone Case:

In the Document Editor, hover over “File” to expand the list:

  • Click on “Clone Case” to copy the entire case to the Document Editor

5. Document Editor – Save Notes:

In the Document Editor, hover over “File” to expand the list:

  • Click on “Save
    • Choose a title and select a folder to save the notes

6. Print Saved Notes/Document:

          a. Print in Editor:

In the Document Editor, hover over “File” to expand the list:

        • Click on “Print” to print your notes in the Document Editor

           b. Print in Document Management:

In Document Management, click View to open the document you want to print:

        • Click the “Print” on the upper-right corner of the page

Regulations

1.  Search through Regulations:

Navigate to the Side Navigation Menu

  • Click on “Regulations
    • Select the jurisdiction(s) you want to search in
      • Type your keyword(s) and click Search

1. Search through Statutes:

Navigate to the Side Navigation Menu

  • Click on “Statutes
    • Select the jurisdiction(s) you want to search in
      • Type your keyword(s) and click Search

1.  How to make an investigative search:

  • Click on “Investigate
    • Select the Investigation Item that offers the information you want to find
